How to Do Suitcase Crunch

The suitcase crunch should begin with good posture to avoid injury. Brace the spine by drawing your lower abdomen inward. Your core muscles should be activated to support your posture as you perform the exercise.

If any pain is experienced, immediately stop the suitcase crunch.

Beginning

Beginning Suitcase Crunch

Lie down on the ground on your back. Your arms should be extended behind your head and your legs should be straight.

Movement

Suitcase Crunch Movement

1. Tuck your knees into your chest and rotate your pelvis to lift your glutes off the ground to accomplish the movement. Flex your spine while doing so, then raise your arms back over your head to do a crunch motion at the same time. Take a breather for a moment.

2. Return to your starting posture and complete the exercise as directed in the training plan.
