How to Do Standing Db Upright Row
The standing db upright row should begin with good posture to avoid injury. Brace the spine by drawing your lower abdomen inward. Your core muscles should be activated to support your posture as you perform the exercise.
If any pain is experienced, immediately stop the standing db upright row.
Beginning
Beginning Standing Dumbbell Upright Row
Stand "tall" in neutral spine, grasp dumbbell(s).
Movement
Standing Dumbbell Upright Row Movement
1. Draw dumbbell(s) up toward the chest/shoulder flexing at the elbow and shoulder.
2. Keep dumbbells near shoulder width to avoid as much internal rotation/protraction as possible.
3. Lower under control and repeat.
