This stretch is focused on the turning motion of your torso to work your core therefore heavy weight is not needed. Also be sure to keep your back thigh in line with your upper body and never twist to a point where you lose balance or feel unnecessary pain.
Beginning
Beginning Spinal Twist Stretch
Kneel down on the floor making sure to plant your back knee firmly on the ground and keeping both legs pointing straight forward.
Movement
Spinal Twist Stretch Movement
1. Once in proper positioning to begin the movement twist your torso in a slow and controlled motion as far as your stability and flexibility safely allows.
2. Once you have reached the end of the rotation slowly begin to move back into the starting position.
3. Repeat all recommended repetitions for that side, then switch sides by changing leg position.
