How to Do Lying Abductor Stretch With Rope, Pnf
This flexibility exercise may be performed by healthy exercisers who have adequate flexibility in the lower body.
Be sure to keep the tummy pulled in throughout the exercise. Keep the shoulders pressed firmly against the exercise bench and hips engaged throughout the exercise.
Beginning
Beginning Lying Abductor Stretch
1. Lie down on an exercise bench.
2. Suck in the tummy in an effort to make the navel touch the spine.
3. Loop a long rope around the right foot.
Movement
Lying Abductor Stretch Movement
1. Extend the right leg straight up in the air.
2. Hold this stretch for 20-30 seconds.
3. Allow the tension to release and then slowly move the leg farther to the right.
4. Hold this new position for 5-7 seconds, and then relax.
5. Repeat 2-3 times. Switch rope to the left leg and perform this exercise on the left side.
